Truck Rolls When Driver Reaches For Phone

A young teen who is not even old enough to drive alone got behind the wheel and rolled his truck.

The accident happened at four thirty Saturday morning near S and 8 Road. The fifteen year old driver was reaching for his cell phone and this caused him to swerve onto the shoulder of the road. He hit a concrete irrigation riser then ran into pipe fencing. The truck continued and then hit a power pole. The pole was ripped out of the ground. The truck then rolled one and a half times, ejecting the driver and smashing the cab of the pick up.

The teen suffered minor injuries. He was sighted for careless driving and violation of learners permit because he was not driving with an adult.
