A mother is speaking out, saying her son stabbed his friend in self defense. Meanwhile authorities continue to investigate.
Caryn May says her son, Henry Bostelman, stabbed his friend Brian Paul in self defense.
May says Paul was staying with her and her son when an argument broke out just before eight Tuesday night.
May tells 11 News that one minute Paul was outside "cooling off," and the next he was charging her son with a knife. May says that's when her son grabbed the knife and stabbed Paul in the chest.
May says her son is upset over the whole situation and emotionally drained by the event.
Bostelman has been interviewed by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office,
authorities are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
