Man Who Lost Son In Accident Races On

Video will be available shortly.

Steve Katz lost his son Mike in a tragic car accident in 2004. Now he's using his son's memory and love of race cars to raise money for local victims of crime.

This Saturday, Katz will park his Nascar simulator outside Krispy Kreme. The public is invited to stop by and race the car from 10 a.m. to six p.m. and then those with the fastest times will compete for prizes like Broncos tickets.

All proceeds will go the Mesa County Sheriff's Office Victim's Assistance Program.

Katz's son always dreamed of becoming a Sheriff's Office Deputy and Katz says his son would be proud to see the community come together for a good cause.
