Roanoke, Va. (AP) -- A student who was shot in the face during last month's rampage at Virginia Tech has left the hospital.
A hospital spokesman has confirmed that Sean McQuade was discharged, but said privacy laws prevented him from saying when or providing other details.
His mother's account of his recovery on a website says McQuade will continue treatment closer to home in New Jersey. The account says McQuade may need more surgery to repair nerve damage that's causing facial paralysis.
McQuade graduated from Virginia Tech this month with a math degree.
He is the last known Virginia Tech victim to leave one of three local hospitals, but the identities of some of the wounded never were disclosed publicly.
