A suspected drunk driver allegedly leaves the scene of a crash, but thanks to helpful bystanders police are able to catch the suspect.
According to the Grand Junction police Ryan Butler crashed into the Brookside Subdivision sign and the housing development's pump house before leaving the scene on foot.
It happened just before 11 o'clock last night at the intersection of 30 and F and One Half roads.
Butler's wife who was with him in the car stayed behind.
When authorities arrived on scene Butler was gone, but witnesses helped them find him walking a short distance away.
Butler was arrested and is facing charges of driving under the influence, careless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident.
