The body found in the Colorado River between Palisade and Clifton has been identified as 29-year-old Ricky Crewse.
Crewse's body was discovered just before 11:00 Monday morning by a volunteer boat team with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. Rescuers spotted the 29-year-old's body caught near the shoreline in some weeds and debris.
According to the Mesa County Coroner's Office, Crewse drowned and the manner of death has been ruled as an accident.
On Saturday, Crewse was rafting along the Colorado River with his girlfriend and her two children. Their two inflatable rafts, which officials say were toy sized, capsized at the diversion dam in Palisade.
The woman and children made it to shore okay, both children had life vests on, but Crewse and his girlfriend did not.
Search teams with several agencies including the Palisade, Clifton and Grand Junction Fire Departments had been searching the waters from Corn Lake in Clifton to Riverbend Park in Palisade.
Crewse's raft was spotted on the south side of the river near Palisade High School Saturday night, but at that time there was no sign of Crewse.
