Hoping For a Crack Down

Currently prisoners are able to reach out to anyone through the internet on a page called pampered prisoner dot com.

One prisoner whose has a profile on the site is Jason Garner. Garner is in prison for a life term after being found guilty of murdering a Grand Junction girl back in the late 90's.

This website has people questioning how and why this type of activity could be going on. Grand Junction Representative Bernie Buescher says it's time to find a way of stopping this.

"We're trying to figure out how to stop this type of activity because it isn't this prisoner, or this murderer who's accessing the website directly posting stuff. He's using a third party. He's calling a friend or he's writing a letter and through that the friend is putting this stuff on the website," says Buescher.

Buescher admits that it will be a difficult issue to tackle because of constitutional rights.
