Family Mourns Loss Of Home

A Grand Junction family looses everything after their mobile home goes up in flames Monday afternoon.

The fire happened just after one o'clock at 1550 US Highway 50. When the Grand Junction Fire Department responded on scene they say heavy smoke and flames coming from the trailer.

Firefighters fought the fire defensively and were able to put the flames out fairly quickly. But the trailer couldn't stand up to the fire and is considered a complete loss. A family of seven is mourning their loss.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

Damage to the mobile home is estimated at $40,000 to $60,000.
