A Grand Junction man showed up at St. Mary's Hospital late Monday night with a gun shot wound to the face and now police have the suspected shooter in custody.
The arrest unfolded Tuesday morning in the 500 Block of Santa Clara and Dolores Avenues. Swat teams went to the home of suspected shooter 46-year-old Marcus Anthony. But when they got there they found he had already fled. A uniformed officer spotted Anthony driving and was able to pull over his teal SUV at 5th Street and Struthers Avenue along with the help of tactical units.
Anthony is in the Mesa County Jail tonight and is looking at a possible attempted 2nd degree murder charge. Because the investigation is on-going, Anthony's arrest affidavit has been sealed and the name or condition of the victim in the case has not been released.
