An Olympic gold medalist was in Clifton on Wednesday to speak with young girls about tough choices.
Shannon Macmillan played with the United States Olympic women's soccer team and the Women's World Cup team. She teamed up with the Century Council and Girl Talk to help in fighting the battle against underage drinking.
Shannon Macmillan says, "You just need to look as far as Hollywood to see drinking glamorized in a sense. These guys need to see that in real life its about making the right choices and being healthy, making sacrifices and doing well in life."
According to Teenage Research Unlimited, sixteen percent of girls ages thirteen to fifteen say they drink with their friends, but only five percent of their mothers think that their daughters are drinking.
