GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)- Instead putting your old Christmas tree in the trash, it can be recycled into mulch.
To recycle your Christmas tree, it's as easy as dropping it off at the compost facility at the Mesa County landfill.
They are open Tuesday through Saturday 8:30 AM until 4 PM.
The compost facility accepts any bare tree without lights, ornaments or garland.
To get to the compost- take highway 50 towards Delta, make a right onto 31 Rd, and the compost will be the first road on the right.
