GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Icy roads caused problems for drivers overnight and this morning.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, roads have been so slick that even trained drivers were running into problems.

Troopers say that early Thursday morning, a Sheriff’s Deputy in a patrol car spun out of control after hitting an icy spot on 29 Road and Florida Street.

They say his car hit a fence, causing minor damage. He was not injured.

Also, an off duty Palisade officer was involved in an accident on the interstate Wednesday night.

The State Patrol says there have been about 20 accidents between Clifton and Palisade since Wednesday.

There were also three accidents on 29 Road close to the Colorado River and several crashes in other spots since the recent snowfall.
Troopers say two people have been taken to the hospital due to injuries from accidents since Wednesday night.
