Around 3200 people including a slew of businesses were without power Thursday afternoon for more than an hour after an Xcel Energy substation "tricked out."
Power went out around 3:20 p.m. and came back on at about 4:27 p.m.
The outage affected the area between F and G Roads and 24 and 28 1/2 Roads.
Mesa Mall, Krispy Kreme, Home Depot , St. Mary's Hospital and Boston's The Gourmet Pizza were affected by the outage. Some of the businesses closed their doors until power came back on.
Xcel Energy Spokesperson Fred Eggleston says the power outage may have been caused by some sort of overload to the sub station system but they'll need to gather more information before they'll know for sure.
