The identity of a woman found in the Gunnison River on Monday has been released, and now police are searching for a man who may know what happened to her.
The body of 37-year-old Linda Louise Johnson of Grand Junction was discovered along the banks of the Gunnison River Monday afternoon by a Union Pacific crew that was doing maintenance on the railroad tracks.
Officials are now looking into how she died, and believe 40-year-old Danny Carpenter may have been with her leading up to her death.
Carpenter is not considered a suspect but police are not ruling out foul play and say they want to question him.
Carpenter is 5' 10", 167 pounds, and has four tattoos including a tiger on his left arm.
Anyone who knows where he might be is asked to contact the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.
