Family members and the coaching staff at a New Mexico high school confirm the identities of the two teens killed Wednesday afternoon in a rollover accident north of Delta.

P. J. Valdez, 14 and Jude Jaramillo, 15 died when the SUV they were riding in overturned on Highway 50. The two teens were part of a group of teens and their football coach traveling home to Taos, New Mexico from a football camp.

The teenage driver, Jim Armijo, 17, and 34-year-old Dallas Mondragon remained hospitalized at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. Armijo is in good condition while Mondragon is listed in fair condition.

Witnesses say the Kia SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when it went off the side of the road, over corrected and then rolled multiple times. The Colorado State Patrol says the two teens in the back seat were ejected. The Patrol says the two were not wearing seat belts.
