Take Caution Before Taking To The Water

The sun is shining and the lakes and rivers look so inviting,
and they are, as long as you take the necessary precautions.

Summer has just started and already four bodies have been pulled from rivers in Mesa County.

According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, 91% of drowning deaths are due to water recreation activities. Things like Wake-boarding and Jet Skiing can be safe and fun as long as everyone is wearing a life jacket.

It is required by law to have readily accessible Personal Floatation Devices for every person on the boat.

Children under thirteen need to be wearing a life jacket at all times on the water.
