GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A Grand Junction woman was arrested Tuesday after police say she beat up an elderly man for no reason, tried to run him and another person over and tried to kick a police officer in the groin.
Labrenda Walters Jackson was arrested Tuesday after officers say at around 2 p.m. Jackson was driving in the 1100 Block of Orchard Avenue when she started yelling at a 67–year–old man that was walking.
Police say she told the man to "get on his knees" and then tried to run him over with her suburban. The arrest affidavit says she then got out of her vehicle and hit the man in the face and stomach. The man was able to get into his truck and drive to Community Hospital for help. The affidavit says Jackson followed him there and broke the mirrors on his truck before taking off.
Later police were called to the Greyhound Bus Station on a report that Jackson's suburban was blocking a bus. When police tried to get her to get out of her car she refused and had to be physically removed. At one point she tried to kick an officer in the groin.
An employee at the bus station told police that Jackson had threatened her and tried to hit her with her car.
Jackson is facing a number of charges including menacing and third degree assault.
