Ride the Rockies coming to GJ, again

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Cyclists from all over the state will come to Grand Junction this summer.

Sunday it was announced that Ride the Rockies will kick off in our city.

It’s the third time the city will serve as the starting point for the cycling tour.

It’s taken the Visitor & Convention Bureau 18 months to secure the start, but they say it’s going to benefit the entire Valley economically.

Ride the Rockies research says a community hosting the cycling group overnight can expect more than $250,000 pumped into the local economy. The tour will be in Grand Junction for two nights.

Ride the Rockies came through our city in 1997 and 2005.
