The Delta County Sheriff's office is looking for two kids who were seen fleeing a remote part of Delta County where a fire broke out Monday night.

The Delta County Sheriff says someone saw two kids flee the area on a green ATV and now officials want to question them.

Federal ground crews have been called in to assist local volunteer fire departments. The fire started around 4 o'clock monday afternoon near the town of Hotchkiss.

At one point firefighters on scene reported seeing flames 40 to 50 feet in the air. Flames did come within 50 feet of a home, but a fire line prevented the blaze from advancing.

At first it was thought that the fire had burned 150 acres, but that number has since been reduced to 80 acres.

Officials say the fire is under control and should be fully contained by 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
