With summer in full swing many pet owners are taking their furry friends outdoors to recreate, but animal services is finding some people aren't obeying park laws.
Mesa County Animal Services wants to remind people that it's illegal to take your dog to a park and let it run around without a leash unless you're at Canyon View Dog Park. Enforcement officers will be patrolling parks and giving out tickets to those who don't obey and say no warnings will be given.
McCarthy adds that if you do take your dog to the dog park make sure your pet is well socialized. She says un–socialized pets are likely to get in fights and be a threat at the park.
