Thunderstorms that rolled through the Grand Valley last night created at least six different fires.
Three of these fires were around the Utah border. The others were northwest of Rifle, North of Collbran, and South of Parachute.
The storms only brought a couple one-hundredths to three tenths of an inch of rain. This amount isn't near enough to keep brush wet so fires aren't possible when lightening strikes.
The forecast for this weekend is likely to bring lightening that could cause more fires.
