One out of five people in the U.S. are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and today a picnic is held in their honor.
A picnic at Lincoln Park commemorates the 17th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Colorado Cross Disability Coalition hosted the event and provided activities and entertainment enjoyed by all. One goal today is to break down barriers between the communities and promote understanding.
Festivities today included a presentation of colors, a reading of the proclamation, music, face painting, and even a bounce house. The event is sponsored by Hilltop with donations from Mesa County Foster Parents Association and Dalrada Financial Corporation.
