A traffic stop in Fruita Saturday leads to the discovery of nearly a dozen illegal immigrants on their way to Nebraska.
A Colorado State Patrol Trooper pulled over a Toyota SUV with expired California plates at the Shell station on Highway 340 in Fruita shortly after 1 p.m.
There were 10 occupants in the vehicle, which troopers deem unsafe and when Fruita Police showed up to assist, the driver, Henry Rodriguez–Sanchez of Mexico and a passenger took off on foot.
Both men were captured behind the State Patrol office, just a short distance from the Shell station.
Everyone in the van was taken into custody by the Grand
Junction Immigration and Customs Enforcement office.
