With student athlete training beginning next week Mesa State is facing an unexpected problem.

Crews are still working to clean up Saunders Field House after three feet of water found its way inside during storms on Sunday night. A storm drain on the East end of the building is to blame for all the water inside, and now it's a race to clean up the muddy mess before athletes return. A spokeswoman for the college says the mess should be cleaned up before any athletes show up for training next week. The entire carpet has to be replaced along with some furniture and at this time the total amount of damages are unknown.
