GLENWOOD CANYON, Colo. (KKCO) - A mid-afternoon update from CDOT says workers were still scaling the hillside, working to remove potentially dangerous rocks above the slide site that could crash down on I-70.

CDOT officials say they will know much more when the day's work is over. They expect to issue another update Tuesday afternoon. The 2 p.m. update from officials says, "We will send any information we might have regarding possible re-open times as soon as possible."

The slide happened around midnight Monday and crews have been working to remove huge boulders that punched holes in I-70 and closed the road from Glenwood Springs to Dotsero.
