LOVELAND PASS, Colo. (KKCO) - CDOT continues avalanche mitigation work Friday after a backcountry skier was killed Wednesday.
U.S. 6 exits off Interstate 70 at Exit 216. That's near the Eisenhower Tunnel.
Wednesday a 20-year-old backcountry snowboarder died in an avalanche near Loveland Pass. CDOT did not specify whether the Highway closure was connected to Wednesday's incident.
Authorities say Daniel Michel Otti of Spring Grove, Ill., died in the slide near U.S. 6, about a mile from the Arapahoe Ski Area.
