GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The long, cold winter kept many people inside their homes and the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce says it most definitetly affected business. But with the weather clearing up, the Chamber says foot traffic is picking up, especially on Main Street.

Put a cold winter and Main Street construction together and businesses are bound to lose customers and income. But thanks to the past two days of gorgeous weather, for a Tuesday, Main Street was pretty busy.

Main Street businesses are ready for spring. Tuesday, many people found downtown the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon window shopping, grabbing a bite to eat and strolling down the quaint sidewalks.

And local businesses are hoping to make bank on this foot traffic.

"It's been busier than it has been in quite some time. It's been nice and it's made the hours go by quickly," says Adrian Soleta, Main Street Bagels supervisor.

Main Street Bagels is once again unlocking its patio furniture so customers can take full advantage of the warm weather. They just hope this weather stays nice, so they have a chance to make some more profit on the warm weather.

This warm weather could be a bit of a tease though. Businesses can defininetly bank on one more day of good weather, but that could all change by the end of the week when colder temperatures and precipitation are expected.
