A Clifton man accused in the hit and run death of his friend is out on bond.
Michael Ocampo is free after posting a $25,000 dollar bond Monday night.
Ocampo is facing numerous charges including vehicular homicide in the Sunday morning accident that killed 26–year–old Mario Mondragon.
Police say Mondragon was hit by Ocampo's SUV around 2 a.m. Sunday on 30 Road between D and D1/2 Roads. He later died from his injuries at St. Mary's Hospital.
Earlier that night Mondragon and Ocampo had met up at a Grand Junction bar for a few drinks before heading over to a night club.
Ocampo is expected back in court next week.
