Three dogs with the Virginia-based Volunteer Scent Specific Search and Recovery Units combed through several areas this weekend looking for any signs of Paige Birgfeld that may have been overlooked.
From 23 Road where Birgfeld's car was found, a nearby business where a person of interest in the case works, to Kannah Creek and Highway 50 in Whitewater; the dogs sniffed through areas that have been previously searched and where evidence was discovered hoping to find something.
Other search dogs have been brought in but have had no luck and with the days passing since Birgfeld's disappearance, the Sheriff's Office is depending on the dog's highly sensitive noses.
The Sheriff's Office has not confirmed whether any new evidence has been collected as a result of the dog searches.
