Criminal investigation launched into FMS student

FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO) - A criminal investigation has been launched into a Fruita Middle School student whose out-of-control behavior caused a brief lockdown.

According to the Fruita Police Department, the school was put on lockdown around 11:45 a.m. Thursday as a precautionary measure as administrators dealt with the student.

The school was then moved to ‘shelter in place’ and everything was back to normal by 12:30 p.m.

However, Fruita Police tell 11 News a criminal investigation has been launched into the incident.
