The price of school lunch is increasing this year to keep up with rising costs.
It's been more than four years since lunch prices have been raised in Mesa County, and that's how long School District 51 has been losing money on every meal sold. Now to play catch up, lunch prices will increase about 20 cents.
Elementary school cafeteria's will now charge $1.50 for lunch,
middle schools will charge $1.75 and high school lunch will ring in at $2.25.
