Governor Bill Ritter is working toward taking security measures at our State Capitol.
Metal detectors are now a permanent fixture there, which could have come in handy in the July when an armed man entered the building, claiming to be the emperor. The man was shot down by security in the lobby. State Capitol employees would also be given access cards in this new change, and state troopers would have a greater presence patrolling the halls. Lawmakers will have to approve the change for budgeting reasons.
