Update: Troopers Suspect Alcohol Played A Role In Fatal Crash

By  |

The Colorado State Patrol says they now know who was driving the car in a crash that killed two young men near Collbran over the holiday weekend. They also suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

Troopers say 21–year–old Garrett Swofford of Grand Junction was behind the wheel of the Ford Escort when it rolled off a steep embankment. Swofford and Marvee Johnson were killed in the accident.

Along with alcohol, officials believe speed was a factor. Toxicology reports are pending.
