Early Morning Warehouse Fire

A fire at a mattress warehouse in Grand Junction overnight causes thousands of dollars in damage.

Just before 3 a.m. a pile of mattresses at a warehouse behind Furniture Row on North Avenue ignited.

The fire then spread inside the warehouse, where about a dozen mattresses were damaged by the fire and the rest were ruined by the smoke.

Mike Page with the Grand Junction Fire Department estimates about $50,000 in damages.

The Grand Junction Police Department stopped and questioned one person in the area at the time, and no one was taken into custody.
There is no word on the cause of the fire yet.
