The heavy rain is doing more than cooling temperatures, two mudslides forced crews to shut down roads this morning.

One mudslide happened ten miles east of Rifle between New Castle and Silt on Interstate 70. Crews had to close the westbound lane.

Crews diverted traffic to Highway Six. Interstate 70 is now back open.

Further north highway 64 near Meeker is now back open following a second mudslide.
