Reward Offered For Dog Killer

By  |

A Fruita family watched someone run over their beloved dog, Chaco and then speed away without stopping. Now a national non profit organization, In Defense of Animals is offering $2500 to anyone who can help catch the person responsible.

Chaco was hit on Highline Canal Road in between 18 and 19 Road in Fruita on June 2nd. The canal road is government property behind Walt Speirs and Julie Sinnott's house and this is the reason the driver of the Silver Avalanche type truck can be arrested if caught.

Walt says he doesn't want to see the driver behind bars, he just wants an apology and closure on the loss of a family member. "Julie and I don't have kids and our dogs are like children, and we love them to the same degree."

The truck that ran over Chaco has checkered flags in the back window. If you have any information on this incident Walt and Julie ask that you contact them and help them get closure. You can reach them at (970) 858-7950
