People all over the country are finding themselves living in houses they just can't afford, and here in Grand Junction it's no different.
It's no secret that affordable housing is hard to come by in Mesa County, and this fact is forcing families to buy houses that they cannot afford. As a result these families are left with large mortgages and seemingly endless debt.
So the Grand Junction Housing Authority has come up with a program to help people with this affordability problem, it's called "Calling Mesa County Home" and it's part of a benefit package offered through your employer, comparable to a 401K. The program involves your employer matching part of the funds you put down for a house.
