Right now Mesa County Sheriff's deputies are wrapping up their search for a car theft suspect.
Deputies say that a woman was warming up her car in her driveway when a man jumped inside and drove away. The vehicle was followed by either her family members or her friends, who had called police about the incident. Police officers arrived a few minutes later. When deputies arrived the car thief took off and clipped another vehicle.
He then abandoned the stolen car in a parking lot near 32 Road and I–70 B, before running away. Deputies cornered off an area and set up a perimeter to look for the suspect.
State Patrol is still trying to find the other vehicle that was clipped.
