ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Frontier Airlines and Delta Air Lines won't be flying to Aspen this winter, cutting air traffic to the ski resort an estimated 20 percent.

The Aspen Daily News reported Thursday that the airlines have confirmed they're dropping winter routes to Aspen. Frontier is leaving Sept. 30 because the airline's parent company, Republic Airways Holdings, is no longer operating Frontier's Lynx Service and is phasing out the division's Q400 turboprop planes.

Delta officials said its Aspen routes didn't generate enough traffic. Delta said flights from Atlanta were popular, but not from Salt Lake City.

United Airlines will be the only commercial carrier serving Aspen this winter.
