Early Monday morning the Mesa County Sheriff's Office Arrested two juveniles and charged them with attempted first degree murder and felony menacing.

Erik Deleon, 16, of Grand Junction and Thomas English, 14, of Grand Junction are being held at the Youth Detention Facility without bond.

Authorities believe the two teens shot 18-year-old Martin Martinez in his face September 20 when he answered a knock at the door of his Clifton home.

Officials say the motive for the shooting is still unknown at this time and so is the relationship between the juveniles and the victim.

On Sunday Andrew Martinez turned himself in on a warrant related to the case. The warrant alleged that Martinez was the shooter. But after further investigation the Sheriff's Office determined he had nothing to do with the case. Martinez was released and all charges were dropped.
