GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Tonight Mesa County residents dressed to the nines and danced the night away at Two Rivers Convention Center.

It's "The Prom," an event sponsored by Project Hope of Colorado and it gives individuals, 16 and up with a mental or physical disability, the opportunity to live like royalty and relax.

This is the ninth year that Project Hope has hosted this event and one volunteer said she has worked on it every year.

"I think every year has had it's own special moments," Jennifer Burnett said. "We have such a good time getting ready through the event. It offers a lot of people an opportunity to get to know each other through the projects.

Attendees get to enjoy dinner, take a limo or horse and carriage ride and of course, spend a lot of time on the dance floor.

Volunteers worked all day to make sure the ballroom was decorated and the group also accepts donations to help with the cost of dinner, decorations, tuxedos and specially altered prom gowns.
