GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Good teachers are the backbone of our school systems, but many times, their work goes unappreciated.
That wasn't the case on Tuesday though when OfficeMax recognized one local teacher for all of her hard work.
Their 7th annual 'A Day Made Better' program, highlights the extraordinary efforts of teacher and strives to eliminate teacher-funded classrooms.
"I don't think anybody knew about it so I think they were totally surprised," says winning East Middle School Teacher, Nancy McFarlin. "This gift from OfficeMax is for the kids."
In honor of her hard work, McFarlina 7th grad teacher, got $1,000 worth of supplies; including a Kindle Fire, books and a camera for her classroom.
OfficeMax also donated 20 bags worth of supplies for other teachers at the school.
