GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - 12th street was closed Wednesday night in order for crews to install a new cell tower for network provider AT&T.
If you subscribe to AT&T, that may mean better service around the university.
According to PR Manger of the AT&T-Rocky Mountain Region Suzanne Trantow the tower should improve service to the 12th street area as well as the university's campus.
"In cooperation with Colorado Mesa University, AT&T technicians are setting up a temporary site at a campus parking garage," said Trantow. "The site will enhance wireless coverage to the University and the surrounding area while a long-term option is developed. In early July, AT&T launched the nation’s fastest 4G LTE network in Grand Junction as we continue to expand our network in the area."
