GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Keeping track of what your child eats at school has never been easier with a new resource for District 51 parents.
The District 51 Web site allows access to menu selections, paying for meals and updating accounts through ParentBridge.
Officials say it used to just be for academic purposes, so parents could communicate with teachers, but now the program encompasses much more.
"Parents can see exactly what their kids are purchasing, how much it costs, what the balance might be, if they have a negative balance or a positive balance, how much is left," says District Spokeswoman Christy McGee.
Parents can also get alerts if their accounts are getting too low and can easily re-fill them online.
It also allows parents to sign up for free and reduced lunches. District officials remind you that even if your child was approved for the program last year, you have to reapply by Sept. 20 to be considered.
