Grand Junction, Colo. – The Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs of Grand Junction had their annual Bell Ringing, Ring-off competition this Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Rotary Club started this morning at 10 a.m. and the Kiwanis Club took over at noon. Both clubs rang Salvation Army bells at more than 40 different locations, including all City Market and Safeway stores, Cabella’s at Mesa Mall, Wal-mart stores, Walgreens and certain downtown stores.

This contest is designed to raise funds for the Salvation Army that helps families in the Grand Valley.

Last year, the two service clubs combined to raise more than $48,000, which is more than a quarter of the total raised during the holiday season bell ringing effort by the Salvation Army.
