BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Police have arrested a 32-year-old man after a body was found on a Broomfield street.
The Boulder Daily Camera Matthew P. Burnett was arrested Saturday afternoon and faces charges of first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence stemming from the death of a 34-year-old Westminster man, whose name has not been released.
Investigators say the victim's body was found Saturday morning near Westlake Park, and they later determined he had been in an altercation with Burnett. Police have not said how the man was killed.
The Camera reports that when a phone number associated with Burnett was called Saturday evening, a man who identified himself as Burnett's brother declined to comment.
Burnett, who is being held at the Broomfield County jail, is set to appear in court Monday.
