DENVER (AP) -- A 19-year-old man suspected of stealing a cellphone from a paraplegic woman in a wheelchair in downtown Denver has been arrested.
Police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez tells The Denver Post (http://bit.ly/HiWAn0) that Dontae Richardson-Riley was arrested Friday for the theft that occurred on the 16th Street Mall on Oct. 7.
He is accused of ripping the phone, which was attached to a lanyard, from around the neck of the paraplegic woman, who also is unable to speak. Richardson-Riley is currently serving two year's of probation for felony attempted trespass of a dwelling and misdemeanor theft.
