Arrest made in Porta-Potty investigation


Grand Junction, Colo. – The Grand Junction Police Department has arrested a man suspected of taking pictures and videos of people using a portable toilet at the Junior Service League Park.

Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for 37-year-old Joshua Vohs of Grand Junction after he confessed to placing a camera inside the portable toilet to take pictures of women using it. Officers arrested Vohs this morning.

The investigation all took place when a 13-year-old girl told her father about a camera she saw inside the toilet on Oct. 11. The girl also spotted a vehicle she saw in the parking lot that day. Based on the evidence, detectives were later able identify Vohs as a suspect. They serveded a search warrant on his residence and collected computer and storage devices. Investigators found 175 images and 25 videos of females going to the bathroom.

Grand Junction Police officers had previously arrested Vohs in 2011 for mounting a camera to his shoe to take pictures up the skirts of women in a local store. Vohs pleaded guilty in that case and was sentenced to two years in jail.

Anyone who used this toilet from Aug. 5 to Oct. 11 is asked to contact the GJPD at 970-549-5231.
