GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Money saving strategies for seniors will be the topic of a program next week.
According to Mesa County RSVP, seniors spend a larger proportion of their income on medical costs than others, and that’s where the Senior Health Insurance Assistance Program or SHIP comes in.
It’s Thursday, May 19 at 2 p.m. at the Clifton Community Hall on 2nd Street. Specific topics include ways to lower Medicare prescription drug costs, Medicare-approved preventative screenings with no co-pays and more.
Mesa County RSVP volunteers helped one senior save more than $1,000 this year.
