GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Grand Junction Police are investigating what they believe to be the third butane hash oil explosion in 2014.
On Wednesday evening, officers were called to the 1700 block of Roubideau street on Orchard Mesa, just around the corner from Duck Pond Park.
Neighbors found a piece of PVC pipe on fire in their backyard and extinguished the pipe with a garden hose.
When police arrived at the home, they found evidence of an explosion and a small fire, but no one was inside.
They later found the resident recovering at St. Mary's - it's still unclear how serious his injuries were.
